Notes

I am driven by a deep empathy and emotional connection that goes beyond analysis or intellect. This profound connection shapes my artistic journey and influences the essence of my work.

Though not currently in vogue, beauty is a powerful storytelling element in photography. Beauty reveals truth. In my own work, these truths have emerged through form, emotion, mystery, and interconnectedness, amongst others I do not fully understand.

The process of making these images was visceral, subconscious, and pure. I hope that viewers experience my photographs as they were created—through instinctive feelings, a natural connection, and an unfiltered response.

In an interview three years before his death, Ansel Adams stated:

"People say to me, 'What did you mean when you took that picture? What did you have in mind?' I said, 'It’s in the picture.' 'No, I mean I want you to tell me what you were thinking about!' I said, 'If it isn’t in the photograph, then I’ve failed.'"
